Guangdong Delivers Comprehensive Support for MSMEs

The six-day 2018 Guangdong "Micro, Small, Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Day" campaign was launched in Guangzhou on June 25th. During this period, Guangdong started a series of public service packages, including small and medium-sized microenterprise service vouchers and free training programs for SMEs etc., supporting the development of MSMEs.

At the 74th plenary meeting of the United Nations in 2017, UN declared on June 27th of each year to be the ¡°Micro, Small, Medium-Sized Enterprises Day" to promote the development of MSMEs. Regarding the current event venue in Guangdong province, the Guangdong Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission introduced the new supporting policy and distributed a series of public service packages for MSMEs, including the 10 million service vouchers and 226 public welfare training programs, covering fields like entrepreneurial innovation, financing and other professional services.

According to reports, more than 90% of market players in Guangdong, more than 80% of new jobs, and more than 50% of GDP and taxes are contributed by MSMEs. Mr YAO Dehong, director of the Guangdong Provincial SME Bureau, said that the healthy development of MSMEs is an essential basis for maintaining the steady and rapid growth of the Guangdong economy and is also a significant task related to social stability.

At present, there are 32 state-level small and medium-sized public service demonstration platforms in Guangdong, accounting for 6.7% of the country. The number ranks in the forefront of the nation, providing enterprises with various services such as entrepreneurial innovation, talents, marketing, and legal services. These platforms are contributing to the transformation and development of MSMEs.
